WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY OR PHYSICAL THERAPY?

• Physiotherapy is a thriving health care profession dedicated to reducing pain, increasing mobility, and getting you back to your most optimal level of living, whether at home, work, or play.

 

BEFORE MY PHYSIOTHERAPY VISIT

I AM A NEW PATIENT. WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?

• Welcome to ABC Physiotherapy. Give the clinic a call at (506) 672-9355 to schedule a new appointment. We ask that you fill our a New Patient Intake Form  prior to your first appointment.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

​

• You do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist, but your insurance may require one.

​

​

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO EACH VISIT?

​

• Please bring something to wear that is comfortable and allows your physiotherapist to access the area to be treated.

  • Example: Shorts for knee or low back issue​

  • Example: Loose t-shirt for a shoulder or neck issue 

 

HOW DO I GET TO YOUR CLINIC?

• Please refer yourself to the Location tab at the top of the page.

DURING MY PHYSIOTHERAPY VISIT

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY VISIT?

• During your first appointment, we will focus on assessing the “core” issues of your problem, diagnosing your injury, and teaching you about your injury and what you need to do to get better. In most cases, we will also provide treatment. Please see Our Services tab for more information.

• During follow-up appointments, we will reassess your progress and continue in providing you a individualized treatment plan.

• Our one-on-one personalized care will be perfect for you.

HOW LONG WILL MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT BE?

• Initial assessment: 90min 

• Following appointments: 60 to 75min 

  

PAYMENT

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR DON’T SHOW UP FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT?

• We require 24 hours, or one business day, notice of a cancellation by telephone. Late cancellations or unattended appointments will incur a full treatment fee.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT AT YOUR CLINIC ?

• We accept Interac Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Cheque or Cash.

Do you direct bill private health insurance companies?

• Physiotherapy costs are covered by most private insurance plans We direct bill for many of those plans. If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact us at abcphysiotherapy@bellaliant.com or (506) 672-9355.

HOW DO I FIND OUT MY PERSONAL BENEFITS REGARDING PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT? 

• Please contact your private insurance company. We recommend you do this prior to your initial assessment.
